The Institute has graded three level of courses in planning, presentation, production and technical areas of Radio and Television. These three levels have been formulated based on the training needs of personnel of three categories of those who:

1. work under direct supervision ( level-1);
2. work without direct supervision (level-2), and
3. work in supervisory and management position (level-3)

National Institute of Mass Communication, in addition to its routine activities, organizes various training activities in cooperation with AIBD , ESCAP, UNESCO, IPDC, IDRC, JICA, CBA and other international bodies.
b) Research Activities :
Conducting audience research on Radio & Television Programmes and Research & evaluation of training Programmes.
c) Seminar/ Workshop:
NIMC, alongside holding Training Programs, organizes seminars and workshops on broadcast related issues, and also on topics of general interest.
